About Las Vegas Orientation

(Las Vegas, Nevada - NV, USA)

With almost 800,000 residents, the enormous and sprawling city of Las Vegas stands in the state of Nevada. Downtown Las Vegas is the historic center of the city, where many of the area's most historic hotels, casinos and buildings can be found. Fremont Street is the main drag of Las Vegas, a covered pedestrian area encompassing four blocks, with the Fashion Mall standing nearby, featuring a high concentration of retain outlets and malls.

Las Vegas Orientation: Layout and Directions

Heading in an easterly direction, Fremont Street runs into Boulder Highway, which was once the best way to reach the nearby Hoover Dam. Running in a north-south direction, Las Vegas Boulevard is a major thoroughfare, often referred to simply as 'The Strip'. Las Vegas Boulevard is lined with many spectacular hotel casino complexes, including Excalibur, Flamingo Hilton Hotel, Luxor and Tropicana, together with smaller motels and accommodation options.

Circus Circus and Caesars Palace are without doubt two of the most famous hotels in the city of Las Vegas, both of which stand along The Strip, while the nearby Tropicana Avenue area is home to the MGM Grand, New York and Monte Carlo hotels.
